From the Photography:
Let’s end this week with a BANG! Here are my original negative photos of the mighty Van Halen. Taken behind the Warner Theatre in Washington, DC, May 11,1979. This was the first nationwide tour for the band in support of their debut album before launching into superstardom and filling stadiums around the world. This show was a small, intimate glimpse at the brilliance of Eddie Van Halen. No cameras allowed inside, (and believe me I tried), we waited outside behind the theater after the show for the band to leave. Eddie Van Halen and Alex Van Halen shared a limo, while David Lee Roth and Michael Anthony each had their own. I took these photos in a very short period of time as their security guy was not thrilled with me and my camera being there in the first place! I was satisfied with what I got and am happy to share this small glimpse of rock history.
