Van Halen in Rome, Italy at The Piper Club. This was for a TV performance but this footage has never surfaced yet. This is the famous performance where Dave jumps and hits his nose on a low-hanging mirror ball over the stage. This had them cancel the next 2 shows and the next time we see him is 5 days later on 5/26 at Pinkpop where Dave’s nose is taped up.
Update 10/6/2021: Van Halen Italia released a couple EXTREMELY, super rare videos this year. One today of the lip-sync performance for Italian TV on this date 5/21/1980. Van Halen lip-syncing “Fools” 😍 and Eddie playing the rarely seen Dragon/Snake guitar. WOW!!!
It’s said they also played “You Really Got Me” that day and that’s where DLR jumps and busts his nose on the mirror ball hanging down.
